You don’t even have shoes!” But Cinderella smiled quietly. That night, when everyone left, she slipped on her magical glass shoe. Poof! A swirl of glitter surrounded her, and suddenly, she wore a beautiful gown, and the other glass slipper appeared on her foot.
At the ball, the prince couldn’t take his eyes off Cinderella. They danced under the chandeliers, her glass shoes sparkling like stars. But as the clock struck midnight, Cinderella gasped she had to run home before the magic faded! In her hurry, one glass shoe slipped off and stayed behind on the palace steps.
The next morning, the prince found the tiny shoe. “I’ll marry the girl whose foot fits this magical slipper!” he declared. He searched the kingdom, trying the shoe on every foot. When he reached Cinderella’s house, her stepsisters pushed and shoved, but their feet were too big. Then, Cinderella stepped forward, her heart pounding. She slipped her foot into the glass shoe, and it fit perfectly! The prince smiled, “You’re the one I danced with!”
But here’s the secret the story never tells: Cinderella’s shoe wasn’t just magic it chose her because she was kind and brave.
